Here is another update to the fork: a fishermen village! It is unlocked after you become a pirate …
The update includes:
- New Fish resource, which can be farmed in the Fishermen Robbery quest.
You may also hire a fisherman in the village to catch some fish for you.
- Ship Repair Kit (SRK) — a potion analogue which will repair your ship during quest. You can obtain SRKs at Shipmaster’s house in the village (in exchange for some fish).
Hope you like it 🙂
P.S. If you need more fish — you may steal some from fisherman from time to time 🙂
Regards and happy fishing!
Good evening everyone!
Here is a small update for the shipyard!
Now you can repair your ship in a one click (not for free of course!).
Also, you may now hire pirates! They will do significant damage in close combat sea battles!
Also it seems that I’ve fixed the issue when loading from local storage (slots 1-5) corrupts the game. So try to load your previous game and let me know if there are any bugs.
As I keep receiving issues about new game content unavailable when using saves from previous builds, I’d like to say that, sadly, it is what it is. The fork is under developement and new features are added frequently. Sadly, I can’t predict in each build what will be next, thats why old saves may be incompatible with new game content with high probability 🙁
Hope this will not stop you from playing and testing the fork 🙂
Added a shipyard to the game (instead of the computer). It is available as soon as you become a pirate! Currently you can buy a new ship for yourself, other features will follow…
Also a ranking system was introduced.
I’ve finished with implementation of the sea quests backend and now you may become a pirate! The pirate island is unlocked after you complete the coast.
Yet there is nothing you can do as a pirate, but I’ll add something soon: the shipyard, where you’ll be able to upgrade your ship, and some more sea quests!
Note, that swimming on your boat, your potions will not be available. I’ll add some special ship abilities later, such as ship repair during the quest (like health potions). Just now there is only one special ability available: lower the sails (the «L» hotkey), which will stop your boat from moving forward.
P.S. It seems that your saves from previous builds would not work, so you’d better start from the beginning to check the pirate island 🙁
A small update: now the build number is displayed at the bottom of the page (e.g. «Version 1.2 (build 4592)»). I’ll reference this number in my posts when deploying updates so you’ll be able to check whether your currently loaded game is up to date (it may be cached you know).
P.S. If the number does not show up try refreshing two times, maybe pressing Ctrl key.
I have deployed a small update to the cauldron: it now displays the quantity of potions you posess at the bottom of the page.
Also in this update a pirate island can be found. Not clickable at the moment.
I want to share my latest thoughts about the pirate island.
After you complete the coast, you’ll be able to go to the pirate island. Here you’ll be able to become … a pirate! After a small quest of course — you must prove you are a true pirate 🙂
After becoming a pirate, a new branch of the game is unlocked. You get your first ship and will do the sea quiests — rob ships, beat sea monsters etc. The ship will be upgradable: you’ll boost its HP, hire more pirates, upgrade the onboard weapon!
Also I’m thinking of implementing the ranking system: the more quests you do, the more your pirate rank grows. The more rank you have — the more quests will be available!
So, stay tuned for further updates!
Changed the height of the Coast quest so it can be played on 15’6 screens without scrolling.
Also fixed the unlocking of the coast: it is now unlocked on the Outland map after the quest is taken, not after you complete the quest.
Added the chainsaw to the Armory. Also made the cannon available only after finishing the Economist’s quest.
